Moving on to Nightmare it can drop from Act 1 onwards with higher odds than Act 5 Normal, although still not particularly great. It is possible for Shael to drop in Normal, but it'd have to be Act 5 (or Cows) and the odds are not particularly in your favor. Magic Finding does 'not' affect Rune drop chance, quantity or quality, so you'd just need to kill a lot of monsters. If for some reason you don't want to farm Countess (which I recommend) the only other way to get Runes is to find them through regular drops. You can get a guaranteed Rune from the Hellforge, but each Rune has an equal chance and the spread is quite big, and it's also y'know, once per difficulty, per character, so it's not a reliable way to farm low-mid Runes. Shael is a Rank 13 Rune, which means you can't get it from Normal Countess (Rank 1-8) but you can get it from Nightmare Countess (Rank 1-16 Commonly, up to 18 Rarely) For low-mid level Runes, the Countess is still the best source for reliable Rune drops.
